Food: Fit for a king!

My last food entry was such a success, topping my stats with  most viewed since I posted it, that I decided I had to give it another try.
Living on my own for the summer I’m always on the search for quick and tasty dinner recipes, and so are most probably you too. Since you’re reading this.

Today were going to make a simple yet delicious rice dish topped with a chicken curry sauce.
Preparation time: 25min.
You’ll need:
-250G of minced chicken fillet
-1 1/2 cups of rice
-2 1/2 cups of water
– Salt
-Curry spice+spices of your choice
– 1/2 onion
-1/2 red pepper
-1 glass of milk
-1 tbs flour

Pour the water and rice into a pot and boil at low temperature until small “potholes” appear on the surface.
Fluff up the rice with a spoon and turn off the hotplate but leave standing until most of the water has steamed off.

Rice is ready

Put the minced chicken in a frying pan and break into smaller pieces. Chop up the onion, pepper and chives.
Mix in with chicken. And fry slowly til all chicken is cooked.

Onion pepper and chives

Spice up the mix with curry powder and spices of your choice.
I used some garlic powder, pepper a bit of salt and some mustard seed.

Assorted Spice

Chicken Curry

No curry is complete without the sauce.
Pur the milk into a small pot and add the teaspoon of flour.
Boil up but keep mixing it with a spoon or something or your sauce will go all al lumpy!
Thanks for the tip mom 😉
As soon as it reaches boiling take it off the heat or it will turn to a solid schlupp.
Pour it into the pan with the chicken.
Add spice and salt to taste.

Your dish is now ready!

Chicken curry & rice served with a glass of juice Maggi and Jack Daniels Sauce

Serve with a salad side dish. I didn’t have any, so I improvised with a few cherry tomatoes 😉

Topped with tomatoes and chives

Oh and don’t forget the Jack Daniels Barbecue sauce! And Maggi-thanks again mom for sending that down 🙂
And to all you guys who are wearing baggy shorts/trousers, don’t forget to wear a belt.
It’s a real pain when you’re rushing to the kitchen to turn off the hotplate and your shorts are half the way to your ankles.
This cooking isn’t exactly keeping my shorts on 😛

Happy cooking!
